Podcast & Articles Musings #2 - ‘‘That was awesome.’’

Another week, another nod to the power of brands and creators connecting with customers and followers in real life on the How I Built This podcast.

This time round, Julia Hartz, the co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite, kicks off the show with host Guy talking about how events and activations are a growing part of wider marketing strategies…

Julia; Our research shows that pretty much every Gen Z’er, 98%, says that they want to extend their relationship with a product or a story that they love in real life.

Bringing the niche communities into real life and creating that connection between identity & community that’s cultivated online to a real life situation offline, helps people build. We see this as only continuing to grow with the advent of this community building that’s not about the technology or online space, but it’s actually about the nucleus of that community and the strength of that.

Guy adds an insight into his own experience; It’s really special to have that [in person] connection, you know sometimes I’m like ah shall we do it it’s so much work, it’s a lot. Then you do it and your like that was great. That was awesome.

We think so too, Guy.
